CULTURAL COMPETENCY TRAINING

Cultural competency training is designed to meet the specific needs of the client. Dr. Fader provides training in cultural issues to physicians, nurses, mental health personnel and healthcare administrators. He also provides trainings for administrators and employees in corporate settings.

When an organization contacts Dr. Fader to arrange a training, he will interview the key contact people within the organization to assess their training needs. He will then propose a training curriculum based on these training demands as well as the amount of time and other resources an organization decides to allocate. Trainings can be arranged for time periods of one hour to two days depending on the needs of the group.

Dr. Fader's cultural competency trainings are unique in that, in addition to raising cultural awareness, they provide participants with the skills to deal with the cultural challenges they face in the workplace. After these skills are reviewed, participants are given an opportunity to practice them with each other. Dr. Fader also offers participants opportunities to practice what they have learned with actors trained to portray patients from multicultural backgrounds.
